In April 2006 the Police Pension Regulations were amended. New entrants to the Police Service after this date start automatically in the New Police Pension Scheme. Existing members have the right to transfer into the new scheme. Any person who is considering this should contact their Federation representative before taking any action.
It should be noted that any officer taking a career break will be able to rejoin the old pension scheme. Those officers who leave and rejoin must enter the New Police Pension Scheme.
