The biggest issues facing the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW), the service and members will be discussed when the annual conference starts today.

The PFEW’s conference bring together policy makers, policing stakeholders and senior leaders in policing and the Federation.

Hosted by broadcaster Ian Collins, it’s a chance to discuss the issues that matter to members.

Staffordshire Police Federation members can register here to be part of it.

Today’s agenda includes discussions on leadership in policing, independent conduct panels, and disclosure and redaction. Day one will also see debates on retirement, misogyny, and Mutual Aid.

The agenda for day two will look at industrial rights as well as wellbeing. PFEW chair Steve Hartshorn will deliver the keynote address and there will be a Q&A panel session.

Outstanding contributions to policing will be recognised through the presentation of awards for excellence in roads policing, detectives, and women in policing.

Members who are unable to be part of the conference can follow it and join in the discussions on social media using the hashtag #PFEW23
