Organisers have announced a change of venue for this year’s National Police Memorial Day.

Staffordshire Police Federation members planning to attend the service are being advised that it will now take place at the New Theatre, Cardiff on Sunday 24 September.

It comes after the previous venue, St David’s Hall, was closed due to the presence of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) panels in the building.

Doors will open at 12.30pm, with everyone seated by 1.30pm for the service to start at 2pm.

There’s still time to register to attend the event. The booking system will close on Wednesday 20 September.

People who have already registered don’t need to take any further action.

A reception planned for the evening of Saturday 23 September has been cancelled as the venue is not available.
