Step on it this May and June and raise money for the Police Treatment Centres (PTC).
There’s still time for Staffordshire Police Federation members to sign up to the PTC’s Big Step Challenge.
The challenge aims to encourage people to raise much-needed funds for the charity by walking hundreds of thousands of steps in a month.
Branch chair Lee Robinson said: “The PTC is a charity that’s really close to the hearts of many serving and retired police officers and their families.
“It does a great job in supporting ill and injured officers and you never know when you might need its support.
“The Big Step Challenge is a chance for members to support the charity, to really test themselves, and hopefully get a bit fitter and improve their wellbeing along the way.”
The challenge runs from 15 May to 14 June. You can take part on your own or as part of a team.
Complete the Gentle Stepper, which is 250,000 steps; the Middle Stepper, 500,000 steps, or the Top Stepper’s target of 750,000 steps.
Entry is free but those who take part are asked to raise a minimum of £30 for the PTC, and the top three fundraisers will win a Fitbit Inspire 3.
Each year it costs £6.5 million to run the Police Treatment Centres, and fundraising makes up at least 10 per cent of the figure.
