It has been an incredibly tough 12 months since I wrote my last Christmas message and the challenges we have faced have sometimes felt enormous.

But with resourcefulness and strength of character, we have got the job done and continued to serve the people of Staffordshire with professionalism, dedication and courage.

It seems we are still not out of the woods as far as the pandemic is concerned so I urge everyone to make sure they and their loved ones stay safe over the holiday period.

Many of you will be working over the festive season but hopefully most will get a chance to enjoy some time off with friends and family and get some well-deserved rest.

But for now I, along with secretary Glyn Pattinson and everyone else at Staffordshire Police Federation, would like to wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and happy New Year.
