“Opportunities like this are too good to be missed,” says Staffordshire Police Federation secretary Glyn Pattinson, as he urges members to take advantage of the Police Treatments Centres (PTC) amnesty before it ends.
During September and October, the PTC has been giving officers and staff the chance to subscribe and access treatment immediately without having to wait the usual 12 months to qualify.
The amnesty, which also applies to PCSOs, Special Constables and CDOs, will finish at the end of this month.
Speaking about the amnesty, Glyn said: “With this fantastic offer ending soon, I urge all members to take advantage and sign up.
“Now more than ever, it’s vital that we prioritise our mental and physical wellbeing, so don’t be afraid to use the professional support provided by the PTC.
“Under usual circumstances, members need to wait a year to receive treatment, so make the most of this opportunity and get immediate access to the PTC services by signing up today.”
The PTC is a registered charity offering treatment to both serving and retired police officers, as well as various other members of the policing family, following an illness or injury. There are two centres, one in Harrogate, Yorkshire and the other in Auchterarder, Perthshire. A remote physiotherapy service is also offered.
Officers wishing to sign up should email Glyn at gpattinson@staffs.polfed.org and inform payroll.
