Where has 2019 gone... it’s been a challenging year in so many different ways. This time last year I was on the front line awaiting a super noon shift on Christmas Eve, however this year I am now your chair.

Xmas is an exceptionally busy time for policing and within Staffordshire this is no different. I am immensely proud of the job you do, day in and day out, often without a thought for your own safety and putting the community at the heart of what you do.

It’s important we look after each other, make it home safely to our loved ones and make time to enjoy the festive season, after all we are a policing family.

Your welfare and wellbeing is my number one priority. This week, you will see the launch of Staffordshire Police Federation Welfare Support Vehicle... this vehicle will be deployed on the front line, where it’s needed, with Fed reps on hand to support you.

You will also see the introduction in the new year of the Staffordshire Police Federation App. This is an interactive app which will give you all the information you need at the touch of your finger tips, it also gives me the opportunity to improve communication with you in a more timely manner.

I shall be visible over the Xmas period, working in custody, football matches and other departments. As always you have access to the Federation 24hrs a day should you need it with reps on call.

I would like to thank you for all you do and wish you a happy Xmas and all the very best for 2020.

Best wishes,

Phil Jones.
